loanDepot is a top 5 national mortgage lender, originating $38B in loan volume in 2016 across its three retail brands, loanDepot Direct, imortgage and Mortgage Master. In my role I had ownership across the enterprise for:• Software delivery, including Architecture, Design, Engineering, DevOps and Quality• Technology roadmap creation and ownership• Data warehouse engineering and content population • SaaS and data partner relationshipsIn addition to my explicit responsibilities, I pioneered: • product-centered v. application-centered development culture• lean practices and design thinking application to solutions development• New point-of-sale and consumer data enrichment solutions• Product Management function, leading to a new Product team and a Chief Product Officer role• User Experience Design as a Product discipline

Blueberry Systems provided enterprise software products and services to the residential mortgage industry. I was brought on after a short technical consulting engagement as Chief Product Officer and eventually assumed the Chief Technology Officer role as well.In these roles I was directly responsible for product development, go to market and customer success. I also lead led new product development for a suite of solutions intended to support a company re-launch, including a flagship loan origination, loan officer point-of-sale and consumer engagement solutions.

Thin Air Software provided commercial product development and fractional CTO services, opportunistically investing in customers when there was a compelling business case. In addition general strategic and operational responsibilities at Thin Air, I served as Chief Product Architect, CTO and CEO for a number of client and partner companies.

Mortgagebot is a leading provider of loan origination solutions for the retail mortgage lending industry. Geoff and Thin AIr Software were engaged at inception to build out the product suite. In 2001, he played a key role in the management-led spinoff of Mortgagebot, simultaneously merging in Thin Air and becoming the founding CTO. Mortgagebot went on to power the Internet lending operations of 1,400 banks and credit unions. It was recapitalized in August 2005 valued at $100MM+ and acquired by D&H in 2011 for $230MM+. I was responsible for all aspects of the software engineering and technical operations. Under my leadership, the team delivered numerous award-winning innovations, including: the first online real-time mortgage approval with guaranteed rate, points and closing costs; the first white-labeled and fully configurable SaaS mortgage application origination and approval platform; and the industry’s most sophisticated dynamic, data-driven user experience.

Doral Systems provided plan administration software and data processing services to the managed health care industry. Shortly after formation a sister company – Doral USA – was created to deliver the administrative services Doral Systems made possible. It grew to $40MM in revenue by 1998, twice appearing in the top 10% of the Inc. 500. At my departure, Doral Systems supported 4MM+ insured lives from 34 plans across 14 states. The dental subsidiary was sold to DentaQuest in 2004 for $100MM.I had hands-on ownership of the software engineering, product delivery and technical operations in addition to general business operations responsibilities.

Tushaus Computer Services was a full-stack technology services provider. TCS went on to be named to the Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing privately held companies (#160).I had hands-on ownership of all software development, including for a family of commercial software products developed for a leading Japanese instrument manufacturer. My other responsibilities included strategic planning, solution selling and scaling the team.
