I help private clients and businesses to buy, sell and protect assets, negotiate deals, and plan for succession. My key areas of expertise are corporate and commercial law and trusts. I will work with you to identify those areas of risk relevant to your transaction, so that you know what you are getting into. My sound commercial judgement means I will let you know what the best structure will be and how to make your transaction as tax effective as possible. I’ll liaise with your accountant and other advisers (or recommend other advisers to you where appropriate) to make sure that you get the advice you need, when you need it. If you involve me early on in your transaction I can help to negotiate a successful outcome. Whilst over my career I have advised and assisted in negotiations on a number of significant transactions involving major corporate clients, my core practice involves working closely with directors and shareholders who are “hands-on” operators of their own businesses, together with their trusts.
