Biosphere Reserves are regions recognised under UNESCO's global Man and the Biosphere (MaB) Program. The Mornington Peninsula and Western Port Biosphere Reserve is one of four recognised and actively overseen in Australia and of more than 700 worldwide. The overarching MaB objective is to achieve a sustainable balance between the goals of conserving biological diversity, promoting economic development, and maintaining associated cultural values. Suddenly became airborne as I leapt from automotive into the travel industry. Responsible for media relations, marketing communications for the franchise network for the company's various divisions in Australia and overseas.

A true 'boys own' job. Run the media fleet, drive all over Australia mapping routes for launch programs for everything from Ford Laser turbos to farm tractors. Talking turkey with car engineers and designers and being disappointed at the public's lack of support in research clinics for some really cool concepts. Of course, there was the regular buckling down and writing up the extensive media kits, planning launch logistics and briefing creative.
