Because I worked in excavation, construction, and other areas of industry the experience helped prepare to become the competent instructor I am today. Having served in the Arkansas House of Representatives I was required to forge coalitions and direct groups that were not naturally cohesive. From carpentry, equipment operator, excavation, soil morphology to septic design engineering as a manager and owner I have grasped the idea that if the student hasn’t learned, the teacher hasn’t taught. Having worked with an apprentice on to owning my businesses for nearly two decades one of my strengths lies in being able to do all aspects of a business. From this experience I have evolved into a versatile professional who can instruct individuals. Through the years I have learned to lead in such a way to prevent problems. Then when problems do arise there is a best method to handle them to get the best results from our actions.Along with the knowledge I have gained and am gaining as a supervisor, I have to know to teach people in handling knowledge gained over years. How do you pass it on to others? It is not enough to posses knowledge, it is useless if it can’t be passed on to others as a gift, or as a commodity.
