I lead the Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) team for the Health Services Information Systems (HSIS) department of UAB Medicine, having done so as Director since 2009. I have built and oversee the Enterprise Clinical Data Warehouse team, which provides dashboards, data and analysis services for both clinical operations and research. We have over 50 dashboards in place, covering a wide range of areas, including national and local quality measures, care optimization, and operational efficiencies.

Directed multiple development projects, including setting team and project priorities, managing multiple deadlines and user expectations; worked with senior leadership across the Health System to define clinical application development direction and priorities. Directed the multi-year, multi-million dollar Clinical Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence project using PowerInsight EDW, Tableau and SAP, based on my strategic plan for Board review, and led its adoption into the larger UAB community.

I direct technical staff in the Institute, including programmers, analysts and architects, which are supporting Institute functions, faculty research, and informatics research, including development of new research initiatives, particularly around FHIR and other EHR enhancements. I remain an AVP for the Health System, overseeing the Clinical Enterprise Data Warehouse initiative. As part of our CTSA Clinical Trials Initiative, I'm also the project director for both our CTMS (OnCore) enterprise implementation and the Cerner PowerTrials module, which connects our subjects and protocols from OnCore to Cerner.
