About Geoff De Ruiter, Phd.

I see myself as an independent mind trying to negotiate the world around me into being more socially and environmentally responsible. I see great opportunity, but deep challenges.I recently completed my PhD in bioenergy and carbon management in the topic of biocoal applications in BC. I am also a proud former fellow at the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions, and now thriving in the role of Carbon Manager at BC Biocarbon.I have previously consulted for industry in the field of biochar, biocoal and carbon management, helping to bring low carbon products to market in the most carbon conscious way.I am also the developer of Democracy Link (http://democracylink.ca/), a non-partisan communication app designed to better link Canadians with their elected representatives. Democracy Link is currently on re-development hiatus due to the lack of funds needed, but it can still be found on the Google Play store.Finally, I am a builder of many things.
