It was not my intention to embark on a thrill-seeking journey through life, but having conquered my fear of death and seeing something of the ‘other side’, I continued to have numerous accidents, the most recent entailed falling off a train at Bristol Parkway station. I still live near the Station which almost claimed my life and where I famously disappointed the attending Ambulance crew, who wanted to collect body parts from under the train! More exciting…apparently.In my writing, I wrestle with the ghosts of Bresson, Bergman, Kieslowski and Tarkovsky, and seek to gain a greater understanding of our spiritual crisis in its many socio-cultural incarnations. My primary concerns as a writer are creating psychologically-charged and deeply 'suggestive' scenarios through sympathetic, cinematic atmospherics and aesthetics. It is my hope to immunise us from the great English disease of social realism.Tired of films about British working class families with a predilection towards criminal violence and weary of costume dramas, I want to express a different nuance of contemporary European life, blending the spirituality of the aforementioned ‘Continental’ ghosts, with a contemporary feel and thus give shape and form to cinema in extremis.

The company is created for the production of a new feature film, a psychological drama about human trafficking. The story looks at the demand-side of this human trade whilst eschewing the British disease of social realism (can't say fairer than that really!)It follows three women involved in the fight against trafficking and their response to the evidence they find.
