Provide assistance to the City Engineer in a variety of tasks including the oversight of administrative and professional engineering work of the City's Engineering Division. The work involves the supervision of engineering staff, providing technical engineering advice and guidance, and administrative oversight of Capital Improvement Program and projects.

Performed a variety of high level professional engineering tasks. Managed multiple transportation capital improvement projects from conceptual visionary documents through construction. Project management would consist of requesting proposals or qualifications from consultants and managing design contracts, advertise construction drawings and specifications for public bid, manage construction contracts. Applied for a variety of grant applications. Coordinated and executed multiple IGAs with partner agencies for design and construction projects. These grants and IGAs included Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) projects through the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG). Projects included the design and construction of pedestrian safety crossing improvements at various arterial intersections, the design and construction of a 2-mile multi-surface trail, a corridor study for a major arterial through the City, construction management and coordination in establishing BNSF quiet zones at 5 railroad crossings through the City, and multiple other projects. Managed the City's annual street resurfacing and concrete replacement projects with a budget of roughly $5M. Utilized pavement condition surveys and software to guide 6-year plan. Coordinated design and construction drawing development. Managed the construction contract with low bidder, including contract documentation, invoice processing, and contract closeout. Worked with neighborhood residents to find solutions to challenges faced during construction. Managed the City's traffic signal infrastructure. Worked closely with the City's signal maintenance contractor to establish and authorize signal maintenance projects. Worked to update signal technology, created a signal management plan, and worked closely with consultants to update signal timing.Assisted City Engineer with Traffic Control Orders and worked on responses and coordination with residents on findings of traffic calming requests.

Managed and coordinated the design and construction of transportation related projects from conception to completion. Created engineer's opinions of costs, project schedules, and project work plans tailored to the needs and priorities of the project. Has created and evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for hiring appropriate consulting engineers and managed the consultant's work flow while being the primary project contact. Also managed and design projects in-house when resources are available.For all projects, used technical and communication skills to see the projects were completed on time and under budget. Has monitored/managed construction progress, schedule, and budgets.

Worked as part of the Development Review Team in their review and evaluation of private development projects to ensure conformance with City design standards and criteria. Evaluated civil construction drawings, final drainage reports, erosion control plans, and other documents related to the development. Made site visits to ensure projects under construction were compliant with approved construction documents and associated permits as well as evaluated any construction conflicts.
