In project delivery, it's people that make things happen. A great team is about more than getting the job done. It's about creating a space where everyone feels valued, a workplace people are excited to be a part of. That's what I do when leading large-scale infrastructure projects. I bring the technical expertise and shape collaborative, inclusive, and positive cultures. Over my 30-year-plus career as a Project Director, I've led teams of more than 100 people. I've headed big programs and led complex projects, executing across transport, water, defence, mining, and social infrastructure. I'm a proud Queenslander through and through. I grew up in North Queensland and started my career in Rockhampton. I spent some time in Singapore before returning to Mackay and later leading teams in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. I know this region—the good and the challenging. I bring this insight to project delivery and contract management, leaning on my natural ability to relate to others to influence stakeholders and tackle challenges like weather variability and trade and material shortages.I’ve overseen all aspects of design and delivery, including procurement, contract management, cost control, scheduling and reporting. And in managing multiple projects, I step back and look at the big picture, the whole portfolio. This wider perspective allows me to identify risks and prioritise and allocate resources where they matter most. I find opportunities to boost efficiencies, making sure projects are always delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality. As a leader, I help others celebrate every small win. I have a bias for action and am a champion of open communication. I bring a bit of banter to the office and I don't like quiet. (Maybe because I'm one of five and the middle child.) I enjoy aligning business and project governance with team culture to encourage high performance and lift employee satisfaction. I’m empathetic, so inclusivity is important to me. Whether it’s championing women in engineering or ensuring different voices are represented, I'm someone who sits down, listens, and gets to the heart of the matter. I offer support and help team members deliver their best. I have an eye for common ground and use my ability to distil the complex to rally a team around a shared objective. I’m currently looking for my next work adventure. If you believe in fostering a culture of openness and collaboration, let’s connect.📩 Geoff.hill23372@gmail.com📱0407 620 287

Project DirectorKbr, Inc. Mar 1994 - 2010Rockhampton | Mackay | Singapore | BrisbaneI began my career in Rockhampton before spending a year in Singapore, returning to Australia to work in Brisbane as part of a project team. When KBR needed a manager to turnaround the business in Mackay, where I grew up, I jumped on the opportunity. Even though I had no direct management experience, I confidently told my boss I could do it. I took on the role at 28, with only two people in the office, and within a year, I had grown the team to 15. I was then asked to do the same in Rockhampton, where I expanded the team from 30 to 50. I had cracked the code and found my passion for building unstoppable teams and driving growth. It was challenging, but I thrived leading and collaborating. In this role, I developed the honest, positive, and down-to-earth approach that has carried me through my career.
