• Drove new product development through monitoring and inspection of bits coming out of hole and into repair facility.----Tracked test material bits for any issues that may occur. Bits were rigorously tested both after runs and after repairs. Bits were photographed, subject to dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing. Damage was cataloged and progression of any damage was noted.----Test cutters were also investigated. Bits with test cutters were dull graded after each run. Comparisons against similar runs with standard cutters were used to cancel or continue testing of cutters.----Looked for reoccurring damage to bits and reported all findings. Findings were used to correct manufacturing issues.
