Apprentice trained in Electrical/Electronic engineering. In the early years I worked on cranes and lifting equipment in UK, Algeria and Sierra Leone before making the jump (metaphorically!) to New Zealand in the mid-'80's. I started with Austrailian lift company EPL (Elevators Propietry Ltd.) which were consumed by Kone Elevators in the late '80's. More experience with City Lifts and Sematic Elevator Doors, and a return to Kone in the UK before I eventually made the change to International Technical Services (ITS-Manchester) which is a leading part of Thyssenkrupp Elevator global technical support team.

Training ManagerTk Elevator Feb 2007 - PresentIts-Manchester And All Over The World!!Starting as a Kone Field Support Engineer, I soon afterwards became Training Manager and have prepared and delivered technical training on Kone, Otis, Schindler and most recently Orona control systems. All aspects of the controllers are covered, including printed circuit boards, inverter drives, accessing the user interface and the use of diagnostic software for fault-finding and programming. Technicians may be trained either using the elevator simulators and facilities here at ITS-Manchester, or on-site utilizing equipment in their particular country. As such, I have successfully delivered these training courses in many locations, including Moscow, Durban, Paris, Madrid, Stuttgart, Milan, Dubai, Doha... and many more! -
