Manager, Manufacturing Engineering team. Directly responsible for all Supply Base and FATP, including MFG Test, engineering activities - mechanical DFX, injection molding tooling, final assembly equipment, line engineering, and tester management. Device and accessories manufacturing. Directly responsible for new manufacturing process development and final assembly platforms engineering. Responsible for manufacturing strategy and product architecture alignment. Projects include fully-integrated automated assembly lines for precise high-volume manufacturing. Specialty in automation, waterproofing process development, and flexible assembly equipment. Engineered and deployed multiple types of automated production lines in conjunction with German partners on aggressive timetables.Process development and qualification of liquid adhesive jetting, heat press bonding, laser bonding, adhesive diecut (PSA/HAF) infeeding and tacking, laser soldering, SCARA/6-axis pick and place, standardized load/unloaders, CCD fiducial recognition systems, automated optical inspection (AOI), traceability systems/MES integration, airleak testing and more; from NPI through automated MP stages. Specialty in advanced laser processes. Mechanical parts experience includes injection molding, metal forging and MIM; polishing, blasting and PVD; and leather goods processing. Good project management and risk-mitigation abilities. Adept with TA, DOE and statistical methods for quality. Frequent monthly travel to suppliers and CMs in US, Europe and Asia.

Expertise in material qualification, process development, project management and vendor relations. Emphasis on CNC, lapping, polishing, special purpose machine development, new process development, and process optimization. Development of novel grinding, laser cutting and ablating, polishing, and strengthening of new materials. Focus on yielding flawless fit-and-finish within high-volume operations.

Motor/gearbox production. Designed assembly systems for the Tesla Model S beta electric motor. Fabricated gearbox pre-assembly cleaning equipment for the Model S beta production line. Maintained the Tesla Roadster motor production line. Work performed with emphasis on CAD and machining.
