Insituware now provides a portable (hand-held) solution for electronic materials analysis in the Electronics Assembly industry – using EIS (Electro Impedance Spectroscopy). My role as a Principal Engineer has successfully taken an existing concept through to full production manufacture, achieve regulatory certification (EMC and safety), and performing new product development. This has involved schematic design, PCB layout, prototype assembly, design of 3D printed mechanical housings (which have now been converted to hard tooling), assembly of prototypes, testing and debug, low-level firmware development, and GUI user interfaces (.Net).

University Center for Research is on the forefront of new technology development.I successfully developed a light, small, portable and resilient gas chromatography (GC) system, which demonstrated parts-per-trillion (ppt) sensitivity. My role was to design all electrical components (PCBs and wiring), all mechanical parts, and all highly reliable firmware that controls the operation of the equipment. Development of an Integrated Computer systems for the Marine industry (patent pending), and the development of a revolutionary video camera system that has a 220 degree field of view with minimal image distortion for the Security & Transportation industries. The "View-190" video camera system has been issued with two (2) USA patents.The revolutionary computer system for the marine industry ("Shearwater") uses an industrial-grade (all solid-state) computer systems to integrate Navigation (chartplotter) information, onboard instrumentation (eg. GPS, wind meters, current, voltages etc), active weather information, sonar/fishfinder data and onboard cameras - all of which are accessible and controlled through a single touchscreen. The solution incorporates an industrial-quality WiFi router and 4G modem so that the data on the central computer can be accessed anywhere onboard or onshore - via any internet-enabled device (whether it’s a tablet, phone or PC). Windows, Android and iOS are all supported. All data is fully protected via high-level (SSH) encryption security, to ensure that all data is safely transmitted. All equipment operates from a single 12V battery (ensuring simple and reliable operation).The revolutionary camera system ("View-190") provides an ultra-wide-angle video image which is refreshed at 60 frames per second - to provide a smooth video image that has no "blind spots". Performed project work both independently and on integrated development teams. Served lead role to develop the next generation Virus-scanning PCB based on PCI-Express (4 lanes of 2.5Gbps) backplane connectivity. Orchestrated system design, schematic design, VHDL architecture, PCB layout, prototype assembly, prototype testing/debugging, and development of production test jigs (bed-of-nails, and functional tester). Assisted with production test and debug of faulty cards for existing products.Intel acquired Sensory Networks in October 2013.

Direct accountability for up to 10 Engineers and Technicians who designed and developed electronic systems for sonar applications for both military and commercial environments. Commercial projects supported the Seismic industry (discovery and monitoring of oil deposits under oceans/seas). Managed all activities of Electronics R&D, Electronics Sustained Engineering, and Electronics Production support. Designed system architecture to meet marketing product requirements specifications, and served as primary customer liaison. Coordinated and assisted in assembly, testing and verification of prototype systems. Created, reviewed and updated project timetables.
