I am a partner in McCarthy Tétrault's litigation group. My practice focuses primarily on corporate/commercial litigation, including contract disputes, shareholder disputes, Aboriginal litigation, administrative law litigation, tax disputes, and insolvency litigation. I am an adjunct professor at U of T Law where I teach two courses, The Law of Contractual Interpretation and Current Problems in Contract Law. I am also the author of Canadian Contractual Interpretation Law (LexisNexis Canada Inc.), now in its third edition (published in May 2016), and is the leading Canadian treatise on contractual interpretation. Since its publication the book has been cited by courts over 170 times, including six times by the Supreme Court of Canada.I have acted for leading Canadian and international companies in complex and challenging matters in the trial and appellate Courts in Ontario and British Columbia, and in the Supreme Court of Canada. I have also acted as counsel in domestic and international arbitrations. In addition to my extensive corporate-commercial litigation practice, I also provide ongoing strategic advice to my clients.
