I was promoted to Senior Manager and the market modelling executive leadership team following my exception performance as Manager.In addition to the responsibilities listed below and continuing to work as the subject matter expert (SME) for the New Zealand electricity market, I was in charge of actively managing the NZ team's book of work, developing a BD pipeline and ensuring I brought in all EY services, beyond just market modelling, to solve my client's challenges. I also actively trained and mentored our junior staff and provided quality assurance for the work we delivered.

EY acquired the consulting firm, ROAM consulting, in 2014 who specialised in a detailed, physics first approach to system planning and analysis of the Australian electricity market. I was the first employee hired by EY to expand ROAM's operations in New Zealand. Along with my colleague, I developed a tool to forecast NZ electricity prices at a half-hourly resolution out 30 years at each individual market node.In addition to model building, I have led and managed consulting engagements with various clients including Transpower (grid owner), The Electricity Authority (regulator), Trustpower (generator/retailer), The Australian Energy Market Commission and various developers in Australia and New Zealand.

The Transmission and Markets Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Meridian’s basis (risk and opportunities associated with the transmission system) is managed appropriately for Meridian’s $1b of revenue. In my role as transmission advisor I:• Was the SME and helped build the transmission model that lies underneath Meridian’s portfolio valuation tool• Provide detailed transmission outage advice to Meridian’s energy traders in order to mitigate basis risk and pricing volatility• Provide basis risk input to hedge requests and pricing• Look after the weekly transmission outage planning process• Update Meridian’s nodal margin model to help retail and wholesale traders with basis pricing • Maintain the transmission teams power system model• Promoted to Markets and Transmission Specialist

Transpower is the owner and operator of New Zealand’s national grid. It has transmission assets spreading both the North and South Island of New Zealand with an HVDC cable interconnect. My role involved:• Static power system analysis using DigSilent Powerfactory software.• Providing a senior level advisory role in the 2012 System Security Forecast• Completing power system analysis of the Otago/ Southland regions of the System Security Forecast• Developing a concept SO wide knowledge management system

My role involved:• Outage planning for Transpower, 6 weeks from real-time• Creating a system security forecast for years 2011 to 2013 using DigSilent.• Creating a current state analysis report on how peaking generation plants integrate with the electricity market and identifying any shortcomings.• Helping SO Risk and Performance team update to Electricity Industry Participation Code from the Electricity Governance Rules
