About George Adem Odingo
George Odingo has over thirty years of work experience in agriculture development and food security owing to his close involvement in training of smallholders farmers on crop production technologies that include seed systems, post-harvest practices, on-farm storage technologies and agro-enterprise development for several agri-value chains. He has been involved in the identification, development and management of a number of donor funded food security and agriculture/rural investment projects, input distribution programs and monitoring and evaluation activities, agricultural project development, work planning and market research initiatives. He has also a wide knowledge on food security analysis, formal seed sector supply system, alternative seed delivery systems and has extensive experience in increasing smallholder productivity and incomes through high value staple crops e.g. legumes and cereals, root, tuber and crops. George is currently working Fintrac Inc., a contractor to USAID/KEA Feed the Future (FtF) flagship project in Kenya - Kenya Agricultural Value Chain Enterprises Project (USAID KAVES) providing leadership and professional technical guidance to the maize team. He has an extensive public-private sector network, having collaborated on joint projects and working committees with governments both at the national and county levels, agricultural agencies, international donors and development practitioners. George has also worked with Ministry of Agriculture, Chemelil Sugar Company in management positions, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (UN-FAO) in technical positions. He holds a MSc. in Tropical Agriculture Development from the University of Reading in the U.K. and a BSc. in Agriculture from University of Nairobi.
