Ever since I was a child, I grew up looking at old pharmacy relics from my grandpa George's community pharmacies and the many stories of his passion for improving patient care that has been passed on to me through family & relatives. Since this time, I always knew I wanted to be a pharmacist and leave my mark on the profession. My upbringing and experiences have taught me the value of hard work and sparked a number of passions along the way. This has led me to continually pursue learning opportunities in areas like leadership development, legislative advocacy, specialty pharmacy, and entrepreneurship.I have previously worked at Hy-Vee pharmacy as a pharmacy clerk. This experience showed me the basics of how a pharmacy operates day-to-day and the different dimensions of retail pharmacy. Following this, I spent two years as a Pharmacy Intern at Community, A Walgreens Pharmacy where we specialized in providing personalized specialty pharmacy care. As a pharmacy intern, I helped manage the growing number of patients utilizing the benefits of biologics and other specialty medications. As I look forward to a career in professional practice, I have a keen passion for making an impact in healthcare through government policy, state pharmacy association advocacy, and growing the industry's role in improving patient outcomes.
