My university dissertation titled 'Estrella Galicia 0,0: The case of using alcohol-free beer as the face of the brand in a national an international sporting context' analysed the marketing strategy of Estrella Galicia and their involvement in sport, specifically football and motorsports. I looked into the emerging market of alcohol-free beer both nationally within Spain as well as on a wider scale internationally to be able to the investigate the aims and objectives, such as internationalisation, of the Hijos de Rivera company and their beer Estrella Galicia. This was inspired by my visit to the MEGA Museo Estrella Galicia whilst I was living in the region and their section all about marketing and their partnerships within motorsports, namely McLaren and Marc Marquez in MotoGP amongst others. As an avid sports fan this caught my attention as it encompassed a lot of my passions: sports; marketing and internationalisation; and culture.This experience made me pursue this avenue of marketing and culture further as I collaborated with Ruta Pacífica de las Mujeres as a social media volunteer. Ruta Pacífica de las Mujeres is a Colombian feminist and pacifist NGO who work for the negotiated settlement of the armed conflict in Colombia and make visible the impact of war on the lives and bodies of women. They performed their first live theatre performance in the UK in the summer of 2023 and it was a privilege to be involved in the project and be able to speak to these women and listen to their experiences. As a social media volunteer I created content to promote the event and document the theatre performance live, extending the visibility and the voices of these powerful women to a digital landscape.This first step into digital marketing was very enlightening, so I decided to delve further into this by completing the Google Digital Academy course on the Fundamentals of Digital Marketing and learning all the essentials surrounding the topic in which I would like to pursue during my career. As a recent graduate, I am looking forward to combining this with all of my other skills and passions in a future job role.
