My full name is George Bowe Blitch, and let's face it...I've been a Son of a Blitch my entire life!I am a fifth generation Texan, living here with the love of my life, Meg Blitch and our daughters. Most people know that I'm an energetic guy that enjoys being involved in a variety of projects. I've worked in a variety of professions over the years...I've been a Financial Advisor, Wildlife Manager, Hunting Guide, Multimedia Manager, Videographer, Photographer, Writer, Editor, Designer, Cartographer, Musician, High School Teacher, Soccer Coach, Consultant, Entrepreneur, and most recently, a Podcaster.My father and I co-own Blitch Associates, Inc., a financial advisory firm specializing in public finance in Houston, TX. I've entering my 20th year in the industry and I am blessed to work alongside my dad, everyday. I currently co-run Map My Ranch with one of best friends, Colin Williams. MMR is a mapping company specializing in producing custom aerial maps.While I still own and operate the publishing company, HYT Publishing, I had paused on new projects for a few years, after the passing of my good friend and business partner, Harvey Arden - former National Geographic writer/editor of 23 years, and best selling author. I have a few things lined up to continue that journey, with some ebook publications, and some others associated with the "Son of a Blitch" podcast.I am also focusing on producing articles about my experiences managing my family ranches. I had a few articles gain some traction in the outdoor industry, and that really got my desire going again for writing and producing books. One book in the works is about a famous Black Cowboy from Texas, by the name of Bob Lemmons (1848-1947). He was born into slavery, but later emerged as one of the most famous Black Cowboys of Texas, aka the "Most Original Mustanger". He would single handedly round up Wild Mustangs in the Wild Horse Deserts of TX, before barbed wire spiderwebbed the lands. He is truly a Texas Legend. Our families were very close and we have many stories to share!The "SON OF A BLITCH PODCAST" began in 2022. We start by acquiring the latest aerial imagery for the area you want mapped. While the majority of our clients are here for farm and ranch maps, we also produce maps for public land hunts, realtors, vineyards, or even your favorite lake or river to fish on. You can check out the pictures below to see some examples of our work. We can layer your map(s) with just the outline of your property (Boundary Map) or fully customize it (Custom Map) with various labels and icons (hunting stands, food plots, feeders, game trail cameras, pastures, fishing holes, traps, etc.) We can also layer them with lat/long and topo lines, GPS points, or anything else you want highlighted. We can import your info from most GPS mapping/hunting apps, if you already have these marked. If not, that's all good...we've got an easy process we can walk you through. After we acquire the best imagery available for your property, we develop a Draft Map for you to electronically review and finalize, before we print and ship your maps. We charge an initial Set Up Fee for our services (Boundary Maps are $200 and Custom Maps begin at $375) and then you just pay for the cost of the prints. The initial Set Up Fee is 100% refundable if you are not happy with the imagery we have available. We do not charge a set up fee for any reprints! Boundary Maps Set Up Fees cover the design of all sized maps. The Custom Map Set Up Fee covers the design of one large map and one smaller map. Business OwnerHave You Thought Publishing Jan 2003 - PresentHouston, Texas, United StatesHarvey Arden and I created HYT Publishing in 2004 to publish a book we had been working on for a couple years, titled, Have You Thought Of Leonard Peltier Lately? Harvey was the editor of Leonard's first book, Prison Writings: My Life Is My Sun Dance, which chronicled Peltier's life in prison and his fight for justice - to be freed of a crime he didn't commit. As you can imagine, many publishers did not want to take the risk of publishing such a controversial book. After an exhaustive search, the 23rd publisher took on the project. From the way Harvey described it, they were thrilled to have a publisher, but it came with its own set of headaches and frustrations. He felt the publishers changed things up a bit much and didn't support the book all too well once it had been printed. He decided he didn't want to go down that road again, and he called me up and said, "George, let's forget about working with other people who want to tell us what we can or can't do. Think we can pull this off, ourselves? Think we can publish this thing on our own? Let's try it!" And so, we did! We spent two years working tirelessly on it. Since we held the reins, we decided to format it in a unique way, and we called it a Living Memoir with Artifacts. It was After we put out our first book, we decided to keep the wheel in motion and set sights on a second. We then set out to accomplish two goals for ourselves with our work. The first was to get our books and recordings out to the world that might not otherwise see the light of day. The second goal was to try and get as many projects done as we possibly could, by taking any profits we made from one project and immediately putting them towards the production of the next project.
