Dr. George Cave is a licensed psychologist (PSY24124), public speaker, and author of “Just Be a Dad: Things My Father Never Told Me.” Dr. Cave speaks at Church events, business clubs, PTA meetings, etc., on a variety of subjects.Dr. Cave has worked with a diverse population in a variety of milieus including nine years of experience treating acute and chronic mental disorders and chemical dependence. Dr. Cave also worked with CIRT (Children’s Intensive Response Team) of Ventura County providing immediate response to young people (up to 21 years of age) in crisis and their families. Dr. Cave also worked as the Clinical Director of a large chemical dependency rehabilitation center in Calabasas and Malibu CA which included detoxification, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Dr. Cave received his B.A. from California State University, Northridge, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, CA. He has participated in numerous research studies delineating the importance of the family dynamic, communication, and relationships on individual and family emotional wellbeing.
