A brownfield site, it consists of demolition, refurbishment and new build, all the while keeping certain areas of the university live and operational.The contract is Design and Construct type and consists of various staged handovers.Services exposure includes isolation of live services running through construction zones, conducting major electrical shutdowns, new services install (incl. state of the art Media Centre) and integration of new installation into existing RMIT infrastructure.My responsibilities on the project is to manage the number of services sub-contractors from Elec/AV/Mech/Plumbing/Fire/Vertical Transportation. Once complete this will result in the largest Australian embassy in the world.As one of the 3 MEP managers I report to the Senior MEP manager on the project. I am directly responsible for managing all the mechanical sub-contracts. These consist of the following trades HVAC/Fire/Plumbing/Irrigation/Externals and specialist systems such as BMS/Lifts/Pools etc.My duties on the project (in chronological order) have been:• Setting up QA systems such as Material/Sample/Shopdrawing submittals/ITP sign offs for all sub-contractors and driving progress on the documentation front.• Setting up reporting mechanisms for all sub-contractors such as monthly reports.• Managing early ground works for all trades.• Drawing coordination and builders works for all trades.• Tendering and procuring BMS package.• Managing mech sub-contractor works and client sign offs while driving programme dates.• Ensuring Quality is maintained including compliance to Australian Standards where required.• Setting up commissioning plan and systems for all trades.Managing commissioning activities and reporting progress through KPIs for all trades, Final handover of systems manuals and commissioning documentation. -

G+43 residential towers including podium and basement areas. As the project manager, I oversaw 42 no. staff and 1,100 operatives incl. sub-contractors. In my role I was directly responsible for all engineering/procurement/commercial and overseeing construction.My primary responsibilities included leading/managing the project team, liaising with client, and representing the business at the weekly client meetings. Furthermore I was required to present a monthly contract valuation commercial review internally for company senior management.(MEP contract value - 161 million AED, Main Contractor Al Futtaim Carillion) • Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, UAE: The new Zayed University complex in Abu Dhabi. This was split into five projects consisting of Central Campus, Male Campus, Female Campus, Energy Centres and Infrastructure. Reporting to the project director, my role was to project manage/construction manage the 2 no. Energy Centres. Further to successful completion, I was assigned to project manage/construction manage Female Campus (to replace the departing project manager).During this role, responsibilities for my section included, programming the works, managing the installation works and setting up the foreign workforce. Monitoring the quality to specification requirements and obtaining approvals, managing the procurement, in addition to preparing monthly cashflow forecasts and budget forecasts on labor/material. Furthermore managing specialist third-party sub-contractors and holding weekly review meetings.(Total MEP contract value- 515 million AED, Main Contractor Al Habthoor Leightons/ Murray & Roberts JV) -

Senior Project Engineer/Mechanical EngineerWaterman Group 2001 - 2007In my tenure at Waterman AHW (Sydney, Australia) until 2006 and following to Waterman Asia (Dubai, UAE), my position varied, beginning with early mechanical ‘HVAC’ design roles / energy sustainability assessments and then moving to project management of all mechanical design deliverables. This was rapidly followed by various site based lead mechanical resident engineer roles. With reference to the latter, on my last project with Waterman, the design was carried out in Australia and I was responsible in ensuring the Australian standards were adhered to by the sub-contractor.
