I was head hunted for this role while operating my own business to help establish a new concrete supply side business in vancouver and the lower mainland.Over the course of my employment at this company i was able to help achieve many unique milestones:- Master the operation, calibration, and minor service procedures for Proall Volumetric concrete mixers- Learn to concisely communicate with dispatch and numerous other on site trades - Manage Concrete quality, mix designs, and throughput during pours- Created a training program and trained all future Volumetric concrete operators during my tenure- Effectively hired staff to competently fulfill numerous other adjacent roles.During my time at HD concrete i was essential for executing projects that were not possible with conventional equipment:- Long distance ocean supplied concrete via batching on site with volumetric mixers- Shotcrete batching for the gondola at the top of grouse mountain for up to 22 hours at a time- Concrete batched for helicoptor buckets with long wait times between loads.- Started a 30,000+ meter tilt up warehouse project in richmond by pouring the foundation for the first building as well as the main pad for the batch plant that would be used in the future.When I started at this company they invested in 1 Volumetric mixer. By the time I left they had more than 3 dozen various pieces of equipment purpose built for batching or transporting concrete with over 10 million dollars in sales.

Through my efforts at Power Movers i had to develop entirely new skillsets and approach every challenge with enthusiasm and confidence. Previous to running this business, i had never occupied the role of a manager or business owner.If i were to summarize the most important takeaways from running a moving business for myself they would be:- learning how to build meaningful long term relationships- starting a business with no experience and not much else besides a box truck and my own 2 hands.Over my 7 years in business before ultimately selling to my staff, I've managed to achieve many unique and hard won milestones:- sell almost $60,000 in 30 days.- eclipse more than $340,000 in sales over the course of 1 year- Over $1,000,000 in sales during my tenure as a sole proprietor from start to finish. - Give young hard working men the opportunity to own a business of their own and write their own paychecks.Due to the hectic nature and dense influx of transactions at the beginning or end of each month, one of my strongest skills was being able to react to constantly changing conditions while preemptively managing the expectations of our clients. I've worn every hat you can wear at a small business and also paid for every mistake or expense necessary to keep it alive.I have experience Estimating, negotiating contracts, hiring staff, and networking to bring in opportunities for the business over most of a decade.
