We demonstrated that this molecule is also involved in the progression of metastasis through deregulating signaling cascades frequently found aberrantly activated in tumour cells. We achieved this by utilizing a variety of cellular, molecular and biochemical techniques including: Tissue culture, Western blotting, RNA extraction, qRT-PCR, bacteria transformation, molecular cloning, immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy, cell transfections among others. Work was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Giorgos Giamas (BSc, PhD) and Prof. Justin Stebbing (BM, BCh, PhD, FRCP). -
