Construction Research Laboratory, Inc. is the first, finest and largest Curtainwall Test Facility (Test Laboratory) in the world. CRL is fully owned and run by the Sakhnovsky-Dotzler Family, with Odelia Sakhnovsky as President.Construction Research Laboratory was founded by Alexander A. (Sak) Sakhnovsky as an evolution of the Housing Research Laboratory at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida for which he was the Director since 1955. Sak was President and majority owner or CRL until his death in 2011. With over 50 years of experience testing curtainwalls, doors, windows and all nature of fenestration products.George Dotzler joined CRL in 1990 and has been involved in CRL operations in positions from test technician, test engineer, inspector and special assistant to Mr. Sakhnovsky, traveling widely, with Sak to conduct field tests and inspections on behalf of CRL since 2004.In 1994, George Dotzler formed his own testing facility focused upon the local South Florida Market called Construction Testing Corporation, CTC. CRL & CTC worked together to cover the range of all fenestration testing needs from the ability to test massive curtainwall mockups to individual, doors, windows or shutters. While maintaining his own laboratory, George maintained a close working relationship with Sak from then, right up through to the day of Sak’s death.George Dotzler, as Director of Operations for CRL, is responsible for the management of all aspects of CRL activities from bids to testing & reporting, from procurement to maintenance and personnel. George Dotzler as owner and President of Construction Testing Corporation also maintains and controls all aspects of CTC’s operations. These two facilities are now even more closely affiliated and with merged operations for the benefit of better serving their combined clientele through the sharing of experience, personnel, equipment and facilities. George has now over 20 years in the field of fenestration testing.
