The mission of the National Institute of Materials Physics (NIMP) is focused on few prominent directions:- The fabrication of novel materials and architectures, followed by their multi-parametrical exhaustive physical-chemical characterization, on the path towards implementation into high technology products and devices;- The development of analytical techniques and methods applied in Materials Science;- Deliver to the public institutions and companies the NIMP's R&D know-how and expertise;- Training of young scientists, PhD and MSc students, and technicians;- Collaboration with the Universities and other higher education establishments;- Cementing international collaborations, especially based on EU funded projects.

Aims:Coatings (ISSN 2079-6412) is an international, peer-reviewed and open access journal devoted to the science and engineering of coatings, thin and thick films, surfaces and interfaces. Coatings publishes original research papers and brief communications that report on the latest finding of research together with review papers that systematize the remarkable points on the state of the art. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. Full experimental and/or methodical details must be provided.Scope:The journal covers coatings, surfaces and interfaces in the broader sense. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Thin and thick films; Processes for coating deposition and modification; Characterization techniques; Functional, protective and decorative coatings; Dyes, pigments and their intermediates; Wear, corrosion, erosion; Coatings for high temperature; Film materials for packaging; Applied surface science; Adsorption, adhesion, functionalization; Fundamental and functional properties of surface and interfaces; Theoretical and computational modeling of surfaces and interfaces; High surface area systems: colloids, nanoparticles, large interfaces.

Aims & Scope:The Journal of Materiomics aims to provide a continuous forum for the dissemination of research in the general field of materials science, particularly systematic studies of the relationships among composition, processing, structure, property, and performance of advanced materials. Supported by the Chinese Ceramic Society, the Journal of Materiomics is a peer-reviewed open-access journal, indexed in SCIE and Scopus.
