About George Exton
Started my first Job 20 years ago as a Mechanical Fitter and Machinist in the printing industry taking lead in most Mechanical works for the first 5years then, pushed on to a supervisory role to manage the engineering team for another 5 years then went into oil and gas as a wellhead technician to try something new installing, servicing and testing production flow (xmas) trees. I ran a small service business after that but circumstances have changed due to my move overseas then ending up in the medical and mobility industry for 2 years as a service technician where I brushed up on my spare part sales and customer services and also had the opportunity to teach myself quoting and invoicing using MYOB and Xero software. I then took another turn back onto a shop floor with lathes and mills but this time was with Computer numerical controls (CNC) which I did for 3 years,after that I continued with another employer as a Machinist but also spent time on jobs within the maritime industry servicing hydraulic power packs for cranes, davits,ride controls, relief valves, hydraulic hoses pumps, motors, cylinders and other related jobs. I then jumped into the mining sector with abit more of hydraulic work but now working on apron feeders, shuttles and other general fitting jobs with my current employer on various mining sites.
