George has over two decades of experience representing technology companies in intellectual property matters, including patent and trademark portfolio growth and management, patent and trademark drafting and prosecution in the US and abroad, due diligence, patent and trademark litigation, protection of confidential information and trade secrets, and negotiation and drafting of contracts, including licensing agreements, collaboration agreements, MTAs, and NDAs/CDAs. Rigorously trained as a scientist and attorney, he enjoys working closely with executives and scientists to achieve an in-depth understanding of his clients’ technology and business objectives, and using that combined understanding to develop and implement pragmatic, forward-looking IP strategies.As part of his role at Bruker Cellular Analysis (formerly Berkeley Lights), George was Interim Associate General Counsel, in which role he provided support for a variety of corporate matters and worked with the executive team on restructuring and M&A strategy. He also lead efforts to establish and manage strategic academic collaborations.George has experience with a wide range of technologies, including biotech assays, instruments for biotech/pharma R&D and related software and reagent kits, cell-based therapeutics and methods for their manufacture, biologics, small molecule therapeutics, drug formulation and polymers, therapeutic and diagnostic methods, medical and diagnostic devices, agricultural microbes and related methods, fungi, bioinformatics, and transgenic organisms.
