With over six years of experience in human resources and equal opportunity, I am passionate about providing quality human resources services for customers as well as advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and beyond. As the Affirmative Action Program Manager at the Port of Seattle, I lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the port's affirmative action plan, policies, and programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. I also collaborate with various stakeholders, such as managers, employees, unions, community organizations, and external agencies, to foster a culture of inclusion and respect, and to address any issues or concerns related to discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Previously, I worked as an Equal Opportunity Specialist at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport, where I supported the execution of the Equal Employment Opportunity program, conducted training and outreach, and handled complaints and investigations. I hold a Master of Education with concentrations in Human Resources Development and Diversity and Equity from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy from the University of Michigan. Some of the skills that I have developed and applied throughout my career are team building, training, diversity and inclusion, communication, and problem-solving.
