After 4 decades of professional engineering employment: "I will extol Thee, my God, O King; & I will bless Thy name for ever & ever. Every day will I bless Thee; & I will praise Thy name for ever & ever. Great is the LORD, & greatly to be praised, Whose greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Thy works to another, & shall declare Thy mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious honor of Thy majesty, & of Thy wondrous works" (Psalm 145:1-5). ✝

Senior Principal Software Engineer, Independent Research And DevelopmentTrw Defense & Space Systems Group Sep 2023 - PresentI've begun supporting IRAD while continuing to support GBSD. So far my truly independent research has uncovered that when it opened back in 1963, our cafeteria originally had a full-service section with waitresses. 😂 -
Senior Principal Software Engineer, Ground-Based Strategic DeterrentTrw Defense & Space Systems Group Apr 2022 - PresentReceived this mid-year review in June '22 (edited for LinkedIn's 2k-character limit): "George has been exposed to several test set efforts, often in crucial moments when other team members are at an impasse in their development. ... From performing hands-on troubleshooting of HW instruments to rapid development of LabVIEW code & everything in between, he has consistently exceeded the expectations of everyone on the team. He was able to showcase his high level of talent as a SW developer. His work demonstrated many of the best practices of SW development ... for robustness & thoroughness in testing & documentation. This ultimately led to the successful & on-time delivery of the test set where the customer was well pleased with the product. He was also assigned the task of developing the Real-Time app on another test set's analog controller. ... Aside from his technical expertise, his interactions with others have been well received. His manager recognizes that he is very aware & professional when it comes to interfacing with some of our HW vendors. He is always quick with follow-up & takes full ownership of issues delegated to him, making sure they are run to ground. In addition one of his manager's favorite qualities about him is the excitement & energy he brings to the team. He is definitely a much-needed breath of fresh air in an often-chaotic environment. He genuinely celebrates all the small victories & ground gained along the way. This serves 2 folds: One, to take a moment & recognize the progress made by the team; & two, by sharing the good news it is a way to inform & encourage others. Overall he fits the category of a top-level recruit as demonstrated by his elite level of technical expertise & professionalism. While other senior engineers similar to George have often plateaued in their career, this is not true for him. George is still on an upward trajectory as he is always on the lookout to become more efficient & effective wherever possible." ['23 ditto] -

ProgrammerNdt Systems, Inc. Dec 2013 - Aug 2014Nashua, New Hampshire, UsWrote LabVIEW (v2013) user interface to collect data and render C-scan images from ultrasonic transducers that perform non-destructive tests of composite materials such as aircraft wings.Performed integration testing of handheld and motor-driven positioning systems, correlating data with encoder feedback per user specifications. This was the most detail-oriented, calculation-intensive project I've ever worked on, and also the first LabVIEW executable I've produced (named CompVu) that's being marketed to other companies rather than strictly for in-house purposes. -
Facilities Programmer / Systems EngineerSpace Exploration Technologies Jul 2013 - Nov 2013Hawthorne, California, UsShort-term contract to code a Rockwell/Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller (PLC) to monitor and maintain launch-pad electrical systems. Secondary goal involved a LabVIEW (v2012) user-interface to the PLC for remote access during rocket launches.Initial project was expected to last about 2 months, but I produced a fully-functional system in less than 2 weeks! Aside from meeting the original goals, I also successfully integrated data from uninterruptible power supplies via SNMP and a PQube device (which measures power quality) via TCP Modbus. Logged data from LabVIEW via SQL to a schema modeled in Oracle MySQL.System worked flawlessly during 1st/historic (re-entrant, land-able) rocket launch in September. Spent an additional month comparing data from redundant systems, integrating HVAC equipment from the rocket hangar and launch/landing control center (via RS-485 Serial Modbus RTU), documenting the project, and cross-training co-workers. Mission accomplished! -
ProgrammerPhoenix Energy Technologies Feb 2013 - Apr 2013Wrote LabVIEW (v2012) modules to mine cloud and Access databases via ActiveX ODBC SQL.Converted MATLAB scripts for complex regression calculations into LabVIEW routines, eliminating MATLAB license cost.Worked autonomously from home (100% remote) documenting existing code, implementing new nationwide customers on new servers.
