I immigrated from Scotland to New Zealand to fill the position of mastic asphalt roofer in Neufchatel waterproofing a company owned by Downer New Zealand. I carried out my position working on various projects throughout Auckland until the company was sold. Asphaltech purchased all the plant and equipment from Neuchatel waterproofing and started to build the company to the level that it is at today.

I served my appretiship as a Mastic Asphalt Spreader gaining city and Guilds in 1990. After gaining my apprenticeship I worked on a range of unique projects from re-roofing historic churches,University's and lighthouses of the coast of Scotland to installing large mastic asphalt floors on Scotland finest Whiskey bond. My time at fire gained me valuable product design and instalation Knowledge of mastic asphalt that I still use today.
