In this role I owned the P&L for a strategic category and delivered growth by expanding our portfolio, improving customer experience on the website and growing supplier investment within the early years of Amazon in Australia. At the same time, I improved Amazon's ability to sustainably offer low prices to customers via management of supplier relationships and negotiation over key terms up to the C-Suite level, as well as via the implementation of improved supply-chain management and automation.

As Atomi has scaled up, I have spent more time thinking about our strategic objectives, working with the sales team to dictate priorities, and designing and implementing new processes for content production. Key experience- Led Atomi’s expansion into 11 Australian, UK and international curricula. - Designed company sprint framework and JIRA configuration to automate production processes. - Created data structures enabling access to detailed insights for over 30,000 unique pieces of content. - Analysed usage data and customer feedback using to direct CAPEX. - Facilitated interdepartmental collaboration to manage competing firm-wide priorities. - Oversaw each hire and fire in my team while creating a scalable organisational structure. - Forecasted the financial performance of the business in order to dictate the aggression of our growth strategy, assess external capital requirements and prioritise allocation of budget between departments. Achievements and Results- Cutting the average cost of content production by over 75% while doubling output each year.- An average revenue growth rate of 60% with our first cash flow positive year in 2020.

Atomi is an online education company that aims to optimise the way that the world teaches and learns. In my first managerial role at the company I managed the video making operation. This involved: - Budget allocation based on priorities for expansion of our content offering.- Developing systems for tracking and improving production efficiency.- Setting up systems for content review and distribution.- Hiring and training of new team members. This work was performed in the context of a rapidly expanding team and product offering, demanding scalability and creativity in our approach. Before becoming the Operations Manager I was a content creator at the company, so you could say that I've seen both sides of the coin! I have also helped tackle marketing, strategy and design challenges along the way as the company has grown from website launch up to its current subscriber base which is hundreds of thousands strong.

Worked with the mid-market property team providing financing solutions to property investors and developers. The mid-market team deals with exposures ranging from $5m up to around $150m. Key contributions included:- Credit risk grading/analysis and loss given default assessments for a range of property investments and developments- Redesigned loan drawdown model to improve simplicity and increase the level of automation- Created a model to track group exposure to residential property developments and assess portfolio diversification (in terms of location, size, risk grade etc.) both at a point in time and over time- Provided input on the appropriateness of the bank's methods of credit risk grading and modelling, as well as detecting and solving errors in risk grading models- Aside from my technical involvement, this role gave me some insight into what it is like to work in a large company and a better understanding of bank operations, especially since my first few weeks were spent doing administrative and customer service style work as opposed to analytical work.

I tutored kids from ages 11 to 18 in playing the bagpipes. I saw it as returning the favour having been through the same system! I'm sure anybody can imagine the challenges of teaching young boys an instrument which can be used to produce such loud sounds at will.
