Hi LinkedIn! I'm an aspiring variant curator with a passion for health and helping others. I find it so fulfilling to see and help people achieve their goals, and know that personal health is an important step along the way, which is why I am always looking for more opportunities to give back to the community this way. When sitting beside the Yarra river, I'm always silently cheering on all the people that run past me 😊My broad experiences have enriched my understanding of health from a multimodal perspective. With a unique blend of academic knowledge and practical skills, from computing to cell and molecular biology, to patient interaction, and teamwork and leadership, I am excited to see these skills benefit the world of variant curation and improve the health of others!My academic interests have previously encompassed developmental cell biology and cancer cell biology, genetics, and biochemistry and molecular biology. It would be awesome to bring this knowledge into variant interpretation. I am also learning programming and bioinformatics and am evermore appreciating the applications of large-scale computing in the health industry. My previous experiences range from coaching, sustainability, pharmaceutical manufacturing, to volunteering within the genomics field. Some of my highlights include appreciating the lived experiences of some amazing children through the Genetic Support Network of Victoria, and the role of genetics in health, and well-being; contributing to an amazing teamwork atmosphere at both Slade Health (ICON) and Cell Therapies Pty Ltd; winning the Green Impact sustainability competition and its Student Champion award; and passing on skills to students from my old high school about the life-changing sport that I love, rowing!
