Completed a 19 year teaching career at MMA. Taught Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics and Facilities Planning and Management. From 2008-2017 served as Engineering Department Chair responsible for three academic majors; Marine Engineering, Facilities Engineering, and Energy Systems Engineering (new in 2012) and three minors; Energy Management, Facilities Operations (new in 2015), and Marine Construction (new in 2017). Oversaw department growth from 16 to 30 faculty as MMA enrollment grew from 750 to 1,600 students. Primary architect of MMA's first graduate program; M.S. in Facilities Management (new in 2003) and served as Capstone Coordinator and Adviser for 10 consecutive MSFM graduate cohorts (2008-2017). Major catalyst and contributor for developing the Energy Systems Engineering program; MMA's first ABET Engineering Program (ABET accredited in August 2017). Faculty Liaison (2000-2017) to the Engineering (Industry) Advisory Council and Faculty Adviser (2000-2018) for the Association of Student Engineers. Time flies when you're having fun...

Final assignment of a 22-year Coast Guard (CG) career was at CG Group Woods Hole, now part of CG Sector Southeastern New England. Served as Deputy Group Commander responsible for CG operations from Watch Hill, RI to Southeastern MA including Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Prior CG assignments included Planning Officer First CG District, Facilities Engineer CG Air Station Cape Cod, Civil Engineering Program Manager CG Headquarters Washington, DC, Facilities Engineer CG Support Center Boston, Project Engineer First CG District Civil Engineering Division, Graduate Student University of Illinois, and Operations/Deck Officer USCG Cutter SPAR (WLB-403), South Portland, ME.
