George & Sharon Howells are the proprietors of Kapiti Grove, supported by our children. Kapiti Grove is developing into one of New Zealand's foremost producers of extra virgin olive oil for the food and pharmaceutical sectors and is dedicated to the development and refinement of Kapiti Coast grown olives for extra virgin olive oil production, sourced exclusively from our own groves, reflecting the traceability requirements of our clients.

George was engaged as Director ERP to oversee the integration of a Oracle resource team acquired as part of a larger IBM acquisition. One of the key elements of this role was to integrate and coordinate ERP team resources across Australia and New Zealand and to develop a long term strategy for ERP service offerings to key clients.A key accomplishment was building of strong team dynamics between technical areas of expertise and the sharing of business improvement innovations with our leading clients.

International Programme Director - PACE Programme – supply chain optimization. George was appointed Programme Director for the PACE project from its inception and mentored the initiation/planning, governance, team advocacy and project implementation of the 36 month programme.A key accomplishment was the development of a common goal and purpose amongst the fifty-eight countries participating in the project, overcoming cultural and language barriers and the ability to communicate the benefits of a visable, networked supply chain.

Business Unit Manager Entertainment Lighting - OEM channel - (R&D, product development, production, marketing & distribution) - for the Entertainment Lighting business unit. George’s first task was to ensure that Philips remained a profitable player in the entertainment lighting market. After extensive consultation with research, development and manufacturing management teams it was decided to consolidate R&D and manufacturing from sites in Belgium and the United States to one centre of competence in France.A key accomplishment was the engagement of senior managers and highly skilled personnel in research and manufacturing to envision a future that provided for a centre-of-excellence for a variety of specialist industry applications, enriching the capability and engagement of our R&D team.
