I am a 20-year-old BSc Business and Management with Industrial Experience student studying at the University of Exeter. I am currently working as a marketing executive at TrueStart Coffee, based in Bristol, as my University placement.I have work experience in the retail and hospitality industry, with 11 months of experience as a customer service assistant at Wilko, and my current job as a Barista at Costa Coffee since September 2021. These jobs have allowed me to develop key transferable skills. Through serving customers in both these jobs and communicating with my teammates effectively I have developed my communication skills. As a busy Costa Cafe, we have a queue that reaches the door most weekends, this has really helped me develop my teamwork and relationship-building skills. Adaptability and problem-solving are other skills I have been able to build from my work as a Barista as things don't always go as planned, meaning I often have to adapt to new situations or think on my feet to solve problems that arise. I also have one week of work experience at Marshfield Farm Ice-cream working as an office assistant and attending sales calls which have developed my administrative skills and commercial awareness. I look forward to developing these skills and learning new skills in my placement year.When I'm not studying or working I enjoy working out at the gym, with a passion for staying fit and bodybuilding. I am a big fan of Marvel, never missing a new film, and love films produced by Warner Bros, I would love the opportunity to work for one of these companies in the future. I also have an interest in the stock market and investing, and I try to learn more about this area in my free time.
