Mr. George Jackson is a member of the Senior Executive Service and the Deputy Director for Technical Management at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). Mr. Jackson has 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry. In his prior role, he was Chief Engineer at the NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC) providing independent engineering testing and assessments for NASA's highest risk programs and projects. In 2018 he was awarded the Astronaut's Silver Snoopy Award for his work on the Commercial Crew Program to improve human space flight safety. He has made significant contributions to advancing spaceflight technology for magnetically clean spacecraft; space flight avionics systems; radiation hardened electrical, electronic and electromechanical parts; optical communication systems; small satellites; and satellite constellations. He has also served as Deputy Program Manager for Space Communications and Exploration; Associate Chief of Electrical Engineering; NESC Deputy Avionics Technical Fellow and Acting Branch Head of Microwave Communications. In 2014, he was detailed to the NASA Office of Associate Administrator where he led an enterprise level strategic assessment on NASA's space environments test capabilities. He graduated from The George Washington University with an MS in Electrical Engineering in 1999 and Salisbury University with a BS in Physics in 1994. He is currently pursuing an MBA at the Jack Welch Management Institute.
