I grew up in a livery yard until I was 18 and during that time, I took on two part-time summer jobs and worked for my family for 7 years. My first job was working on a livery yard for my family, it was an extremely hands-on job that required a vast amount of problem-solving skills. It allowed me to think on my feet and solve problems independently and also as part of a group! Throughout working on the livery I had formed a routine in which allowed me to improve my time management skills whilst not jeopardising the quality of the job.When I was 15 I began a summer job working 3-4 days a week as a barista for a cafe. I had to train on making coffees managing the till and dealing with customers all whilst maintaining a high level of hygiene. After my training was complete I was primarily working in a kiosk by the viewpoint serving food and drink to tourists and locals in the surrounding area. This allowed me to meet and talk to a wide range of different people from all over the globe. Eventually, I was so confident in the job that my boss could leave me to run the kiosk whilst he attended to other matters without a second thought. This job furthered my people skills, my ability to think on my feet and my confidence in the quality of work I am doing or creating.I hope to work for a Weapon defence company, as is why I am studying engineering. I have had this passion for the weapon defence sector since my last year of secondary school and hope to pursue this job/Apprenticeship.
