My duties include inspecting fabricated cables, integrated systems, and assisting in conducting inventories of deliverable items. I help with product installations using drawings/ blueprints for references. I am responsible for calibration quality control on all test equipment. I am responsible archiving and storing production documents. I used a variety of hand and shop tools to perform electrical and mechanical equipment installations in vehicles. I am responsible for making sure all assemblies are manufactured according to the drawings or blue prints. I’ve acquired an IPC J-STD-001D solder certification internally through BAE Systems. I also conduct receiving and shipping inspections of Government Property material as well as perform first article inspections on incoming material . I assist the engineering team with controlled drawing revisions and ensuring all fabricated/integrated items and systems are built to specification. I also ensure that testing of components and systems are completed to specification and that data is properly annotated to test plans/procedures. I ensures that data is collected, inputted and scrutinized for trend analysis to ensure compliance with ISO 9001-2008 standard.

I worked in the lab as the lead Quality Assurance Technician IV providing technical support for Research and Development and Manufacturing groups. I sometimes worked with guidance from Systems Engineers. I performed job duties with minimal supervision on day to day basis. I assembled products for qualification testing on new and current products according to Telcordia and Raychem specifications. I also have some discipline in IEC standards and MIL standards. I was responsible for carefully setting up tests and documenting results, effectively interpreting and charting analytical data; reporting the results in a timely manner and communicating with team members on results as needed. I documented test data and wrote technical test reports. Some duties required me to follow ISO 9000 standards, and American Society for Testing and Materials standards. I used the machine shop equipment and various tools to build test fixtures. I performed single mode fiber optic tests checking for db loss after applying environmental closures onto fiber cables. I performed mechanical tests on various fiber optic closures. I prepped fibers for installing connectors. I was responsible for splicing up to 1800 pair copper cables for environmental testing. I prepped inline splices, foldback splices and branch splices. I performed some testing on Jebsee taps for the coaxial product lines. I am very familiar with outside plant telephony testing. I was also responsible for setting up Outside Plant seminars, and trade shows. I was responsible for all equipment inventories. I was the lead technician for quality testing in the Product Assurance and Testing department. I performed electrical, electronic and mechanical testing as required.

At Data General, now know as EMC Corporation, from 1980 to 1984, I was a stockroom clerk. My duties included driving sit down, stand-up, cherry picker and track guided forklift and locating, retrieving and replenishing raw material as required. At Data General, from 1982 to 1984, I worked as a materials receiving clerk. My duties included receiving incoming materials. I shipped and received packages via UPS, Fed-X, DHL and USPS. My duties were to load and unload trucks using a forklift (sit down or stand-up). Counting to verify correct amounts received and or shipped. I sometimes re-palletized materials when necessary. I issued materials to the stock room after it was verified.

I worked at Variety Wholesalers in Fuquay-Varina as a forklift driver and a warehouse clerk. I loaded and unloaded trucks using a sit down forklift (LP and electric). I also used electric and manual pallet jacks to move freight. I was an order picker also. I used a pick list to pull orders for a chain of Pope’s Dollar stores. I was responsible for helping other clerks with housekeeping and other duties.
