Directs the fiscal activities of the finance and accounting department. Responsibilities include:• Responsible for the finance and accounting department staff including maintenance ofthe general ledger, franchise revenue, food rebates, accounts payable, fixed assets, cashmanagement and payroll processing.• Perform month end closing process. Prepare and post journal, recurring, reversing andadjusting entries. Complete balance sheet accounts reconciliations. Perform andsupervise the monthly billing process.• Prepare the annual capital and operating budget of the franchise, adverting and fooddivisions.• Preparation of both Federal and State income tax returns.

• Provide accounting services to select clients including the preparation of monthly financial statements.• Preparation of both personal and corporate income tax returns.

Plan, monitor and manage the fiscal health of the Michigan Credit Union League and affiliated companies. Responsibilities include:• Oversee cash management and an investment portfolio of $45M to maximize investment returns, while appropriately mitigating risks.• Develop annual capital and operating budget of $58M in revenue, and prepare monthly projections and cash flow statements for ongoing performance measurement.• Prepare financial statements for eight affiliated companies in accordance with GAAP, and present them to the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors.• Supervise the daily activities of the accounting department staff and functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, cash management, receipts, payroll, purchasing and inventory.• Supervise the preparation of monthly sales and use tax reports for multiple states.• Assist in the preparation of both Federal and State income tax returns.• Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external audit firm. In-charge of accounting, audit and review assignments comprising mainly of investments companies, rental properties, construction companies and other companies in the industry. Responsibilities include:• Planning and administration of audit assignments.• Performing accounting assignments starting from journal entries to the preparation of the trial balance.• Maintenance of general ledger.• Monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts including bank, accounts receivable control account, inventory, fixed assets, accounts payable and other accruals.• Preparation of clients’ year end files.• Drafting and analyzing financial statements.• Developing and implementing internal control procedures.• Preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns.

In-charge of accounting and audit assignments comprising mainly of banks, construction companies, investment companies and other companies in the trading and service industries. Responsibilities include:• Planning, administration and performing external audit assignments.• Preparing consolidated financial statements for an international construction company and its subsidiaries/joint ventures.• Supervising and training audit staff.• Liaison with clients’ audit committees.• Preparation of audited financial statements and special purpose audit reports.
