I was responsible for supervising a team of 25-30 day-to-day; overseeing site-wide performance including achieving sales targets, operational logistics and maintaining exceptional levels of customer service. It was important in this role to lead by example with enthusiasm and encouragement. My daily tasks involved recruitment, streamlining procedures, rostering, crew training, highly safety sensitive tasks, running Emergency Response Plans (ERP), sales tracking, off-road/4x4 driving, accounting and banking.AJ Hackett Bungy is a massive company at the heart of the country’s world-renowned adventure tourism industry. My role at Bungy was Frontline Sales and Service. Having shown hard work and drive that I’m extremely proud of, I was quickly promoted to management withing the team; excelling in hands on customer service. Within my core customer service mandate, I became known for my enthusiasm and energy for all aspects of the company, embracing any opportunity. Some of the achievements I am particularly proud of:I was a Health and Safety Representative, serving on the company’s H&S Committee - trusted to carry out site H&S inspections - enhancing company safety measures.I worked at heights of over 47m with the operations team, ensuring safe jumping protocol. Part of this role was being qualified to perform several rescue scenarios on high ropes – furthermore it was a prerequisite to have a working knowledge of knots and the operation of all activities.I discovered a talent for promotion which the Sales and Marketing department often used.I became known for my people skills, networking with everyone in the company and a central figure for trying out any opportunity. I represented Bungy in several sports teams.

After nearly 3 years in the Research and Development Team, an opportunity arose in the accredited Microbiology lab within the business. With my routes still firmly in the life sciences, I was excited to build on my BSc.My experience in the R&D Lab was invaluable taking on the new role, with time pressures taken to the next level. I was responsible for the microbiological testing of every single product coming through one of the largest cosmetics companies in Europe. Mistakes were not confined to the lab, as re-testing and or other delays would postpone the delivery of goods from Swallowfield. Working in a team of two I rose to the challenge and excelled.During my time in the Micro Lab I was trusted with managing my own workload, which has proved invaluable in my working life since. This includied time management, stock take, multi-tasking, deep cleaning, data collection and analysis.

As a research and development technician, I was trusted to interpret briefs from external cosmetic companies and create a formula that satisfied their demands. Working with some big names in the industry, it was paramount to the business that I meet deadlines and produce quality samples. Coming from a scientific academic background, I was able to learn swiftly on the job, as practical laboratory tasks were at the core of the role. From that strong base, I was able to transition into intense multi-tasking, time pressures, data collection and analysis seamlessly. I was part of a tight-knit Research & Development team, so teamwork and communication were essential. In the grander scale I would also link up with departments across the company to ensure premium customer service on any given brief.During my time in the R&D lab I jumped at the chance to socialise with the team to build a strong rapport and ‘family’ atmosphere.
