I have worked within Local Government for over 10 years now. My working life has been split between working for Ringway Jacobs and Essex County Council (ECC) on the Essex Highways Contract.I am currently a Senior Engineer in Development Management for Ringway Jacobs on the Essex Highways Contract. This role involved the direct line management of Technicians and Assistant Engineers within Development Management. I am also responsible for managing the implementation of Highway Developments, including large scale Section 278 works and Section 38 Developments. My previous role was as a Land Charges and Searches Team Leader for Ringway Jacob's. Primarily my role involves managing a very high performing team within a very strict KPI and SLA. My team dealt with over 18,000 enquiries per year. One of my other previous roles was for Ringway Jacob's working as an Engineer and before that a Technician for our Development Management (DM) team. These roles consisted of project managing the implementation of highways schemes, including drawing checks, instruction of legal teams, preparing cabinet member reports and many other highways related tasks.I have also worked for ECC as a DM Technical Assistant. This role involved completing Local Authority Searches and also curating written enquiry responses to solicitors and external customers within very strict timescales. I also processed Traffic Regulation orders relating to the implementation of new highways schemes and creating Cabinet Member reports when necessary.I started work as an apprentice for ECC, splitting my time between Customer Services and Development Management doing many different adhoc tasks and responding to external customers within very strict timescales.
