SingleStop is a not-for-profit organization that helps individuals and families escape poverty. In a nutshell, SingleStop helps give low income children and families access to life-changing but untapped public benefits, tax credits and services. Millions of poor and working poor people qualify for these benefits but don’t receive them because they don’t know about them, or because they are too confused or scared to apply for them. SingleStop helps individuals and families quickly understand what benefits they may qualify for. All they need is the information derived from a sophisticated computer program that accurately calculates a family’s comprehensive benefits. Then, SingleStop provides a little bit of guidance on how to claim them. SingleStop thus creates a “trickle up” effect that allows families to meet their basic needs: food, shelter, education, health and child care so they can concentrate on improving their lives.

Managed 24 hours/7day a week operations of LIFE family shelter providing services for 350 to 500 adults and children on a regular basis.

Administered all educational programming (ESL, Computer Literacy, GED, Afterschool programs) for largest Mexican immigrant organizing entity in NYC. Managed $750K budget and staff of 12 serving hundreds of families in all five boros. Provided technical support to community outreach, event management, and organizing efforts.

Managed internal operatons (legal support, human resources, IT, accounting, facility staff).

Managed public and private funded community development and housing rehabilitation programming in South Bronx and West Harlem in coordination with ACORN's political and education organizing efforts.

Developed and managed street youth outreach and community organizing programs.

Succesfully implemented sustainable youth and community programming that invovled a high percentage of the 17,000 persons living in the poorest and most challenging quatter settlement in Costa Rica.
