I spent my fall 2021 semester balancing my coursework with a part-time job at one of the dining halls on campus. Serving over 3,000 students every night, I moved between positions serving food on the line and working in the dish room.

Overseeing volunteer operations, as well as public outreach duties, in a student led non-profit coalition working to increase voter turnout and political engagement in the second largest city in New England. During Summer of 2021, our second summer in operation, we worked to expand our media outreach by creating our own content for Instagram, Tiktok, and Youtube, as well as working with local public figures to hold interviews on both local radio and our own content centers. We also organized a successful fundraising event with a focus on local youth that was organized around a basketball tournament we hosted alongside members of the local basketball community at an accessible location. Other responsibilities including organizing and attending of volunteer tabling sessions in Worcester’s low-turnout neighborhoods to register voters.

During the spring/summer of 2020, and the COVID-19 Pandemic, I spent my time working as an intern for a non-profit organization with the goal of increasing voter registration, as well as Census turnout, and to spread civic education in underrepresented Worcester communities. My duties included managing phone banks and tabling shifts, as well as public outreach through which I was able to take multiple radio and television interviews on behalf of the organization.
