An environmental & sustainability professional supporting and driving environmental performance and compliance within the BYLOR JV, formed with Laing O'Rourke and Bouygues Travaux Publics. This forms a significant part of the construction of Hinkley Point C (HPC) Nuclear New Build in Somerset, a project that will deliver zero-carbon electricity for approximately 6 million homes. The project comprises both onshore construction works, tunnelling works and off-shore works, of which KPI delivery is integral. Having graduated with a First Class Honours in Environmental Science (BSc) at the University of Plymouth in 2019, I initially fulfilled the role of a Graduate Environmental Consultant with Adler & Allan. This taught me the essentials of research-based work and site investigations (SI) of circa. 50 contaminated land projects in the south of the UK.With BYLOR, I work closely with the construction teams across three of HPC's sub-projects, ensuring environmental compliance is achieved and innovations shared. The role sees frequent engagement with workforce, construction managers, project leaders and Principal Contractor to continually improve environmental performance.
