 Provide legal recommendation to US government agencies, including US Department of Homeland Security, US Department of State and members of Foreign Relations Committee U.S. House of Representatives by responding to requests for information about recent political and legal developments concerning countries of the Middle East.  Supply members of the US Congress and staffers with summaries of important domestic policies and legislation enacted by Middle Eastern countries.  Gave a number of formal presentations to congressional staffers and foreign delegations on political and legal developments in Libya, Egypt and Tunisia post Arab Spring.  Serve as a liaison between Law Library of Congress and Departments of Judicial Information at Ministries of Justice of Tunisia, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar, Iraq and the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia in a multilateral legal program, entitled “the Global Legal Information Network”. Developed a cooperative relationship in the field of the exchange of legal information with foreign delegation from Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, and Lebanon. Trained foreign legal researchers working at the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia as well as representatives of the ministries of justice from Tunisia, Kuwait, Egypt and Qatar on how to use research databases, such as Jstor and Lexis.Nexis to produce comprehensive research products. Work with a team of lawyers and legal analysts to produce various legal research and analytical projects on issues, such as money laundering, tax evasion, and labor rights. Developed a cooperative relationship in the field of exchange legal information with foreign delegation from Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, and Lebanon visiting the Law Library of Congress through the U.S. Department of State, the International Leadership Visitor Program. Supervise legal analysts and law students during summer internship programs taking place at Global Legal Research Center.

 Analyzed a wide range of legal sources, such domestic laws, law journals, sources of Islamic law and international conventions to assist the government of Bahrain to draft legislation combating the exploitation of foreign workers and trafficking of women. Traveled to Manama, Bahrain to work closely on the law drafting process with U.S. embassy staff, the American Bar Association representatives, and officials from the Bahraini Ministry of Justice.  Developed comprehensive concept papers for a capacity building program to train female Iraqi judges, lawyers, and law professors on promoting women’s right, rule of law and democracy in Iraq. Developed comparative research and analysis on labor laws of Arab Gulf countries governing the relationship between the domestic servant and the employer. This analysis was used in a legal reform program to combat the exploitation of foreign domestic servants in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain. Designed and developed a capacity building program on best legal measures to combat human trafficking in Southeastern Europe. The U.S. Department of State, Office of Education and Cultural affairs approved the funding of the program in July 2003.  Managed the Protection Project Human Rights Scholarship Program which included monitoring the selection process of Middle Eastern scholars; developing topics for academic research such as separation of religion and state and the scope of application of Islamic law in the Middle East; and supporting scholars with necessary academic materials to elaborate on their topics of research. Liaised with governmental and non-governmental institutions in the countries of the Arab world, including Egypt, Jordan, Yemen and Morocco to conduct exchange and educational programs promoting principles of rule of law and democracy among law students.
