Mentor Graphics Xpedition ECAD allowed us extremely dense designs, to develop our very low-level analog sensors, 2fC resolution, including COB Hybrids packaged tightly on a PCB to a high-speed USB micro-controller. Our ultra-low power sensors were used in high vacuum in Extreme UltraViolet Lithography. Also designed a variety of flex circuits, high-voltage supplies, and test equipment, 16+ layers & blind vias. Very involved in selecting components to meet functional requirements as well as procurement. Interfaced well with outside vendors to get quite impressive PCB fab and assembly times. Two years elected officer of our national User Group.

Advanced Engineering, Commercial Avionics, Entertainment SystemsWorking as a team, we designed and implemented libraries and procedures for this fairly new VERIBEST/MENTOR CAD system, as we previously used PCAD. Enjoyed my responsibilities of building symbols, cells, and Part-Data-Bases for the entire department. Designed challenging, very dense, double-sided multi-layer designs including over 1GHz bus routing for Fibre-Channel, QAM, RF, MPEG, SCSI, Token-Ring, Mobile Pentium-II chip sets, Boost and DC/DC converters, for our newest Video-On-Demand systems.Also, elected chairman of our VeriBest Southern California User Group.

Radiation Medicine, Proton Beam Treatment SystemDesigned over 40 PCBs, VME daughter & back-plane, system interconnects, and electro/mechanical assemblies used for control, measurement, and safety of our Proton Accelerator and Transport system. Created our online documentation system allowing any authorized person to be guaranteed access to the latest drawing, parts list, wire list, procedure, etc, at any of our networked terminals, including worldwide Internet and Web page access. Also designed Document Number tracking, ECO, Revision History, Test/Calibration, Serno, and Parts List databases and utilities to aid in ISO9001 and FDA GMP compliance.
