I came into this new role with an L&D mindset, and very quickly found that wouldn't work. Capability runs much deeper than that, in fact it's more of a catalyst role that works from the leading edge of the business goals and drivers. Then identifies current and future gaps in capability and delivers the framework for people to collaboratively build the solutions to work out problems drive change and achieve business and personal goals. During this time I've built the capability framework that's delivered a clear picture of how capable the business is to perform it's function and what needs to be done to both address gaps and realise it's potential. Having built the framework, I led the building of an on-line portal where all colleagues can connect with learning which is specific to the job they do and the challenges they face.
