According to a 2017 PMI report, 14% of IT projects fail. It is challenging work. Imagine being the lead of a new scrum team made up exclusively of recent bootcamp graduates. Now imagine leading that team through multiple successful projects and gradually watching and leading the growth from an inexperienced patchwork group to a seasoned and mature scrum team. That is my role, and the challenge is equaled by the level of fulfillment. In my prior role I was the instructor for a 9 week developer bootcamp. Topics covered included Agile methodologies, Object Oriented Programming (C# in particular), SQL Server, HTML5, CSS, and javascript.I have come to realize that coaching and leading a group of people is my passion, so I acquired a Scrum Master certification from scrum.org I pursued my Master's degree in Public Administration at the University of Maryland. My emphasis of budgeting and program evaluation easily translates into the Agile world by instilling a no fluff "does it work?" approach and a desire to follow the best proven practices to maintain transparency and maximize the value produced.
