Previously Maersk Drilling, Noble-Maersk merger October 2022. Currently working aboard Noble Drilling's drill ship, Noble Viking(formerly Maersk Viking). While in the shipyard, oversaw and ensured compliance in the final commissioning of it's engineering plant systems and performance (sea trials / acceptance testing). The Maintenance Engineer is the primary supervisor of the power, propulsion and auxiliaries plant (air, water, steam, cooling) while providing technical assistance & guidance to topside equipment. Additional Duties include, but are not limited to:•As the overall responsible on personal safety, operational excellence, situational awareness, housekeeping, maintenance standards, and ensuring a safe working environment for all technical areas.•Responsible for inspection, reporting, planning and management of machinery operational status/defects within the on board Computerized Machine Maintenance System (CMMS) and applicable legally required logbooks as per company procedures. (IFS / SAP procificent)•Responsible for ensuring that maintenance work planned and executed safe & efficiently, ensuring spare part availability and performing failure root cause analysis in accordance with the requirements specified in the Management System and inline with good industry practice•Ensuring a direct line of communication keeping relevant persons informed of equipment status and ongoing processes.• Responsible for the training and mentoring of the new employees. Ensure industry standard training matrixes are followed as well as company training. Monitor and encourage growth within the company and/or industry.I have regularly stepped up in position to the Technical Section Leader (Chief Engineer) during drilling campaign start-ups in multiple regions of the world. This position entails coordinating multiple third party contractors, ensuring client expectations are met, directing a workforce of 15+ persons across a 12 hour shift.
First Assistant Engineer, Unlimited Motors
- First Assistant Engineer (Jan 24-present) aboard a 6th Generation drillship- Second Assistant Engineer (June 2011-Jan 2013) - Ensure Chief Engineer is kept informed of the status of all equipment and work accomplished, including any ISM non-conformity - Carry out regular maintenance on main engines and similar equipment, repair defective auxiliary equipment, implementing and keeping current on a preventative maintenance schedule- Ensure preventative maintenance is carried out in all engineering areas in order to reduce repair and maintenance costs and eliminate down time - Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of specific items of machinery and equipment as directed by Chief Engineer- Conducted operational testing and procedures on new drillship machinery- Perform Daily maintenance & inspections of equipment throughout the vessel- Supervise maintenance personnel and assign tasks to be completed- Plan, Carry Out, and Monitor all bunkering operations, as well as, pumping off hazardous waste
2Nd Assistant Engineer
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance on mechanical equipment - Lead the repair of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and refrigeration systems- Maintaining proper operations of shipboard systems throughout the vessel- Create and constantly update engine room status logs and accurately fill out engine room and fuel status reports- Take on and/or pump off product (MDO, Liquid Mud, Barite, Cement, Gel and Water)- Complete maintenance and repair on Caterpillar Diesel Engines, 3500 C series attached to a caterpillar generator- Work on and operating Rolls- Royce and Siemens Variable Frequency Z-Drives and Controllable Pitch Bow Thrusters
