About George Spink

I am a Board Member, Director, Vice Chair and Executive General Manager with over 20 years board level experience with particular expertise in engineering, operations and maintenance service delivery across a variety of market sectors including government, retail, telecommunications, banking, industrial and mining and resources infrastructure industries with some of the world’s largest companies.In an executive capacity, I am currently an Executive General Manager in Decoda. Here I established a strategic context, launched the Startup with a focus on growing enterprise value. Previously I was an Executive General Manager in Hastings Deering. Earlier, I was Managing Director in Halcrow Pacific. In these roles, I provided leadership and direction toward growth, led the development and implementation of strategies, delivered engineering services, and also led change. At board level, what I do is guide businesses to realise their full growth potential and market value. I do that by providing clear direction underpinned by performance measurements to ensure delivery of outcomes and utilising strategic marketing, positioning and business development experience to generate opportunities.Board level highlights include: Director and Vice Chair of Facility Management Association of Australia, and JV Board member of Five D Holdings (a JV between Transfield Services and the CBA) and Sentinar (a JV between Transfield Services and Silcar), involved in monitoring the service delivery and financial performance of $230m in combined revenue.Finally, I have an Associate Diploma in Personnel Administration, Graduate Certificate in Applied Engineering Practice, Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, a Master of Design Science, Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Advanced Management Program and have Graduated the AICD’s Company Director Course.

Improved trust between management, workforce and union, evidenced by the creation of a workforce ‘bonus’ scheme and limited disruption to productivity.- Operationally delivered significant improvement in Safety performance from TRIFR of greater than 60 to less than 3 and over $200m in cost savings from overheads during resource sector downturn;- Established a Project Management Office which brought immediate savings (in excess of $10million) through greater project control;- Lead the implementation of Lean Management and Six Sigma – Leveraged the Caterpillar Lean Management system through the dealership, that delivered circa $30m in savings;
